Ted Ginn Jr: Agrees to one-year deal with Bears

Ginn and the Bears have reached an agreement on a one-year contract, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

Analysis: Ginn saw a downturn in his production last season, racking up just 30 catches for 421 yards and two touchdowns on 56 targets as part of a fairly potent New Orleans passing attack. His new landing spot in Chicago doesn't really improve his fantasy outlook given the uncertainty at quarterback and the presence of both Allen Robinson and breakout candidate Anthony Miller (shoulder) in line for targets as well.

Ted Ginn Jr: Snags one pass in overtime loss

Ginn caught one of two targets for 18 yards in the Saints' 26-20 overtime loss to the Vikings on Sunday.

Analysis: Ginn came away with his usual output Sunday, making minimal contributions in the box score. Across his final six games of the year dating to Week 13 of the regular season, he recorded just one multi-catch effort.

Ted Ginn Jr: Catches one pass in blowout win

Ginn caught one of two targets for 10 yards in the Saints' 42-10 win over the Panthers on Sunday.

Analysis: It was a disappointing, yet unsurprising end of the season for Ginn. A boom-or-bust option all year, he finished his third season in New Orleans with a 30/421/2 receiving line, aided by a seven-catch, 101-yard effort in Week 1.

December 29, 2019 6:29 PM EST

Ted Ginn Jr: Held without a catch

Ginn failed to bring in his lone target in the Saints' 38-28 win over the Titans on Sunday.

Analysis: Ginn hasn't made a fantasy impact since Week 1, and Sunday's goose egg was his fourth on the season. He hasn't seen enough looks to warrant fantasy consideration outside the deepest of leagues.

December 22, 2019 6:53 PM EST

Ted Ginn Jr: Targeted just once in win

Ginn caught one pass for 13 yards in Monday night's 34-7 win over Indianapolis.

Analysis: Ginn saw his lowest snap count of the season with just 19. After busting out for 101 receiving yards in Week 1, the 34-year-old has not topped 50 since.

December 17, 2019 1:17 PM EST

Ted Ginn Jr: Goes for 50 yards in shootout

Ginn corralled four of six targets for 50 yards in the Saints' 48-46 loss to the 49ers on Sunday.

Analysis: Ginn had one of his better games of the season, finishing behind Michael Thomas (134) and Jared Cook (64) in receiving yards as he hit the half-century mark. It should be noted that 29 yards of the final receiving total came on a busted play in the fourth quarter where Ginn was left open in the confusion caused by Richard Sherman heading to the sideline. That reception aside, Ginn caught three passes for 21 yards -- not an encouraging figure. He remains a highly-volatile option, and one who should confidently remain on benches or the waiver wire outside of deep leagues.

December 8, 2019 7:15 PM EST

Ted Ginn Jr: Catchless in win

Ginn was unable to bring in his only target of Thursday's 26-18 win over Atlanta.

Analysis: Sunday marked the second time in his past four games that Ginn was held catchless and his single target was his lowest total since Week 10 of 2017. The veteran target has struggled to find momentum this season. He went off for 101 yards in Week 1, but hasn't reached 50 yards since as tight end Jared Cook and running back Alvin Kamara have served as the most prominent secondary options behind Michael Thomas in the passing game. Sunday doesn't look much rosier with a date against the league's top-ranked pass defense, San Francisco.

December 3, 2019 5:39 PM EST

Ted Ginn Jr: Held to 38 yards in win

Ginn corralled two of five targets for 38 yards in the Saints' 34-31 win over the Panthers on Sunday.

Analysis: It was more of the same for the veteran wideout in Sunday's win, as the deep-threat failed to make an impact, even with a combined 67 points scored. He's failed to eclipse 50 receiving yards since Week 1 and scored just twice all year. Even in favorable matchups, such as Sunday's shootout with Carolina, he's more bust than boom.

November 24, 2019 6:44 PM EST

Ted Ginn Jr: Crosses goal line in win

Ginn hauled in two of four targets for 14 yards and a touchdown in the Saints' 34-17 win over the Buccaneers on Sunday.

Analysis: The veteran speedster made good use of his limited opportunities, notching a six-yard scoring grab on one of his two receptions. Ginn has no more than three catches in any game since Week 1, while his touchdown was only his second of the season. Ginn does have seven receptions of at least 20 yards on just 22 total grabs, however, so he carries some big-play upside into a Week 12 matchup against the Panthers.

November 17, 2019 3:33 PM EST

Ted Ginn Jr: Falls flat in win

Ginn corralled two of six targets for 37 yards, adding a 12-yard carry in the Saints' 13-6 win over the Jaguars on Sunday.

Analysis: It was an inefficient night for the speedy wideout, who brought in only two of his six looks. Ginn had a huge Week 1 performance, but the boom-or-bust receiver has been almost exclusively bust since then. Unless he's coming up with a big play or getting into the end zone, Ginn's fantasy value is minimal.

October 13, 2019 7:27 PM EST

Ted Ginn Jr: Gets into end zone

Ginn brought in both of his targets for 35 yards and a touchdown in the Saints' 31-24 win over the Buccaneers on Sunday. He also rushed once for one yard.

Analysis: Ginn made good use of his limited opportunity. hauling in a pretty Teddy Bridgewater pass down the middle for a 33-yard score early in the third quarter, the veteran speedster's first touchdown of the season. Ginn has seen his targets dwindle since logging seven in the opener versus the Texans, but perhaps Sunday's showing will serve as a launching pad for a return to better production. The veteran will look to build up his numbers across the board versus the Jaguars in Week 6.

October 6, 2019 2:28 PM EST

Ted Ginn Jr: Does little on five targets

Ginn caught three of five targets for 19 yards in the Saints' 12-10 win over the Cowboys on Sunday.

Analysis: Ginn once again couldn't do much with his opportunities, going for only 19 yards in the win. A bobbled pass intended for Ginn was the source of Teddy Bridgewater's lone interception in the contest. After a huge Week 1 performance, the boom-or-bust Ginn has been all bust. He can be left on the waiver wire in all but the deepest of leagues.

September 30, 2019 3:38 AM EST

Ted Ginn Jr: Goes for just 15 yards in win

Ginn hauled in two of five targets for 15 yards in the Saints' 33-27 win over the Seahawks on Sunday.

Analysis: It was another "bust" day for the boom-or-bust wideout, who went 7/101 in Week 1 before seeing a blank in Week 2 and just 15 yards in Week 3. Even with Tre'Quan Smith (ankle) out of the lineup, Ginn couldn't get much going. Michael Thomas and Alvin Kamara combined for 17 targets, leaving the rest of the Saints' pass catchers to vie for scraps from Teddy Bridgewater.

Ted Ginn Jr: Ready to play

Ginn (thigh) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game in Seattle, Amie Just of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.

Analysis: Ginn upgraded to full participation Friday, after he logged limited practices the previous two days. He'll have less competition for targets with Tre'Quan Smith (ankle) out of the lineup, but the Saints' cumulative receiving production won't be as plentiful while Drew Brees recovers from thumb surgery.

September 20, 2019 3:40 PM EST

Ted Ginn Jr: Limited by thigh issue

Ginn was limited at Wednesday's practice due to a thigh injury, Amie Just of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.

Analysis: Ginn followed up his 7-101-0 line on seven targets in the season opener by getting blanked entirely in Sunday's 27-9 road loss to the Rams. He wasn't helped by Drew Brees' early departure with a thumb injury, which has since required surgery and will be accompanied by a recovery timetable of at least six weeks. In Brees' place, some combination of Teddy Bridgewater and Taysom Hill will direct the Saints offense. That said, Ginn must get over his thigh injury before he can embark upon this new reality.

September 18, 2019 4:30 PM EST

Ted Ginn Jr: Boom-or-bust option

Ginn didn't receive a target in Sunday's loss to the Rams.

Analysis: Ginn played 39 of 65 possible snaps (60 percent), but he couldn't follow up on Week 1's 7-101-0 performance. The 34-year-old has always been a volatile fantasy asset with an ability to garner the deep ball, so the occasional zero isn't especially surprising. His fantasy value takes another hit as long as Drew Brees (wrist) is out and Teddy Bridgewater is under center, but Ginn may be one of the few pass-catching options left if Tre'Quan Smith (ankle) can't shake his injury.

September 17, 2019 1:35 PM EST

Ted Ginn Jr: Gets past illness

Ginn (illness) practiced fully Thursday, Luke Johnson of USA Today reports.

Analysis: With his elevation from no participation Wednesday to all activity one day later, Ginn's bout with an illness was merely a temporary concern. He'll look to continue his hot start to the season Sunday against the Rams.

September 12, 2019 3:01 PM EST

Ted Ginn Jr: Suffering through illness

Ginn didn't practice Wednesday due to an illness, Amie Just of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.

Analysis: Ginn was clutch down the stretch of Monday's win against the Texans, accounting for seven catches on as many targets for 101 yards by the end of the game. Now under the weather, he'll have two more practices to shed his designation in advance of a Week 2 visit to the Rams.

September 11, 2019 4:03 PM EST

Ted Ginn Jr: Tops 100 yards

Ginn caught all seven of his targets for 101 yards in Monday night's 30-28 win over the Texans.

Analysis: Ginn came up big late, as he first beat his man for a team-long, 41-yard reception on third down on the Saints' second-last offensive series, then got them in range for the game-winning field with a crucial catch on the last one. In doing so, he topped 100 yards to start the season, accomplishing something he failed to do in his last 14 regular-season appearances. Although that illustrates how uncommon such an outing is for Ginn, especially with Michael Thomas and Alvin Kamara commanding constant catches, the veteran still carries nice momentum into Week 2's matchup against the Rams.

September 9, 2019 9:01 PM EST

Ted Ginn Jr: Back at practice

Ginn (undisclosed) returned to practice Thursday, Herbie Teope of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.

Analysis: Ginn was absent from practice the past two days for an unspecified reason, but he returned to work Thursday, which paves the way for him to be available to suit up for Saturday's preseason game against the Jets. Ginn logged 17 snaps in this past Sunday's preseason win over the Saints, en route to catching both of his targets for 17 yards.
