Tyson Bagent Not an Option in Single QB Formats
Chicago Bears quarterback Tyson Bagent won't be a recommended fantasy option for this weekend's road matchup with the Atlanta Falcons. Bagent got the start again for an injured Caleb Williams (hamstring) in last weekend's blowout loss to the Green Bay Packers, though his results weren't as good as the week prior. In fact, the fourth-year signal caller was benched following halftime after tossing his second pick in favor of veteran Case Keenum. For what it's worth, Keenum didn't do much better against the hosting Packers' defense. Looking ahead to Week 6, Williams could put his hamstring ailment behind him after a full allotment of practices. If so, it'd render Bagent valueless in an excellent matchup against a porous Falcons pass defense. If the 26-year-old suits up, he's only an option in superflex/2QB formats as RotoBaller's QB29.

On paper, the Packers defense isn't a favorable matchup, allowing the fourth-fewest passing yards per game (185) through four contests. That said, the Jets and the Falcons each found success against Green Bay in that department. Either way, fantasy managers outside of those in superflex/2QB formats shouldn't consider the 26-year-old for their lineups. Aside from the possibility that the ground game takes over again, teammate Caleb Williams (hamstring) has been officially labeled as questionable for the game, leaving the door open for him to get the starting nod instead. As it stands, Bagent ranks as RotoBaller's QB24 for Week 5.

Tyson Bagent Only an Option in 2QB Leagues for Week 5
There is another start coming for Chicago Bears quarterback Tyson Bagent, but the opportunity matters a lot more in Superflex and two-quarterback leagues. Bagent handled the Jets well enough in Week 4, completing 25 of 34 passes for a career-high 268 yards in a 23-12 win. The fantasy line was much less interesting. He did not throw a touchdown, was intercepted once and added only one rushing yard on four carries. Chicago also had little reason to ask for more with Kyle Monangai running 30 times for 146 yards and two scores. Bagent is expected to start again Sunday at Green Bay while Caleb Williams remains sidelined by a hamstring injury. RotoBaller has Bagent at QB26 for Week 5 and lists him as an add only in two-quarterback leagues. That makes him useful if a Superflex manager simply needs a starting quarterback this week, but there is not enough passing or rushing upside here to make him worth chasing in ordinary one-QB formats.

Chicago Bears backup quarterback Tyson Bagent completed 13 of 19 passes for 103 yards, a touchdown, and an interception in his start against the Miami Dolphins. Bagent played the entire first half and had an up-and-down outing. After going three-and-out on the first two drives of the game, Bagent and the Bears marched down the field on a 16-play 79-yard drive that finished with a four-yard touchdown pass to Maurice Alexander on a fourth and goal. Chicago Bears quarterback Tyson Bagent threw for 57 yards on three completions and ran for a five-yard touchdown in the team's preseason finale Thursday night. The rushing score was set up by a 44-yard reception to wide receiver Nsimba Webster a few plays prior. Bagent played one more drive which resulted in a turnover on downs before getting the rest of the night off. The undrafted second-year quarterback is entrenched as the backup to Caleb Williams on Chicago's depth chart. He looks like one of the better backups in the NFL, picking up two wins in four starts as a rookie.
