Audric Estimé News
Saturday, August 29, 6:25 AM
New Orleans Saints running back Audric Estime is battling with Kendre Miller for a depth spot behind Travis Etienne Jr., a role made all the more important by the questions surrounding Alvin Kamara's (knee) early-season availability after the 10th-year veteran suffered an MCL injury early in training camp. In Friday night's preseason matchup with the Cowboys, both backs saw action, and it was Estime who led the team with 46 rushing yards on only four carries, setting up a first-half touchdown by bouncing off contact for an impressive 33-yard run to the Cowboys' 8-yard-line. He added 22 yards on three catches, and has now racked up 90 yards from scrimmage and a touchdown across his two pre-season appearances. After putting up nearly identical rushing stat lines a season ago, neither Estime nor Miller has truly separated, and should Kamara miss extended time, they could split carries behind Etienne. While neither is a particularly palatable fantasy option, Estime's involvement in the passing game at least has the potential to provide a usable floor in a worst-case scenario.

Ray Davis News
Friday, August 28, 10:08 AM
Buffalo Bills running back Ray Davis has strengthened his case as a late-round handcuff after a productive preseason. Davis turned seven touches into 53 scrimmage yards against Carolina, then started with James Cook III resting against Cleveland and handled seven carries for 21 yards and a touchdown while adding a 10-yard reception. Ty Johnson (lower leg) has also missed more than two weeks of practice, although he has resumed sprinting and could still be available for Week 1. Davis remains unlikely to see dependable standalone volume behind Cook, who won the 2025 rushing title with 1,621 yards. The 5-foot-8, 211-pound back carried only 58 times for 275 yards last season, but he showed what he can do with a larger workload in Week 18. Davis rushed 21 times for 151 yards and caught two passes for 23 yards and a touchdown against the Jets while Cook handled only two carries. Thursday's muffed punt against Pittsburgh was an ugly finish to the preseason, but it does not change the offensive case. Davis has reinforced his value as Cook's primary rushing insurance and a worthwhile late-round target in deeper redraft leagues.
