Jaguars Making Progress On Extension For Trevor Lawrence

Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence said that he and the team continue to work on a long-term contract extension, but he also said "it's not really the focus right now." General manager Trent Baalke confirmed that the team was talking about an extension with Lawrence. "We're working, but you can't force this stuff." Lawrence is entering the final year of his four-year rookie deal and is eligible to have his fifth-year option picked up, with the deadline coming on May 2. If the two sides don't work anything out by then, Jacksonville will surely pick up the option for the 2025 season and continue to work on an extension. The 24-year-old former first overall pick in 2021 out of Clemson took a slight step back from his Pro Bowl season in 2022 but was still a top-10 fantasy QB despite battling through an injury in the second half of 2023.

Trevor Lawrence Feeling 100% Healthy

Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence missed just one game last season, but he dealt with multiple injuries to his lower and upper body that could have affected his play in 2023. In a media availability on Tuesday, the former No. 1 overall pick said he did not feel 100% healthy until March. "When March hit, I felt really good, like lifting and doing everything like totally normal," Lawrence said. "But until March, I'd say that's when I started to feel like 100%, do stuff that I normally do." The 24-year-old threw for 4,016 yards, 21 touchdowns, and 14 interceptions, and the Jaguars lost a Week 18 game against the struggling Tennessee Titans that would have sent them to the playoffs. Ultimately, it was a disappointing season for Lawrence and the Jaguars alike, but a healthy Lawrence could yield better results in 2024. The team has uncertainty at the wide receiver position after the departure of Calvin Ridley, but they are likely to add weapons in the upcoming NFL Draft. Lawrence figures to have a low-end QB1 upside, though he's likely to produce mid-range QB2 numbers in fantasy football.

Trevor Lawrence Can't Lift Jags To Playoff Appearance

Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence (shoulder, finger) threw for 280 yards, two touchdowns, and two picks off 29-for-43 passing in Sunday's loss to the Titans. He added three carries for 10 yards. This wasn't Lawrence's worst showing of his career. However, it wasn't good enough to get the Jaguars into the postseason. The signal-caller has battled various injuries throughout the year, so it's possible they were the cause of some of his mishaps. At any rate, Lawrence took a significant step back this season. He threw four fewer touchdowns than he did a season ago and also nearly doubled his number of picks. The former Clemson Tiger has some work to do, especially since his days as a starting quarterback could be coming to an end if he doesn't get his act together next season.

Trevor Lawrence Officially Active In Week 18

Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence (shoulder, finger) is officially active for the Week 18 regular season finale on Sunday against the Tennessee Titans. Lawrence was held out of the Week 17 win over the Carolina Panthers but is returning to play this weekend in a must-win game. The 24-year-old will be playing through an AC joint sprain in his right shoulder and will almost certainly not be 100 percent, so he'll be extra risky in DFS and in season-long leagues for anyone still playing for a championship. The good news is Lawrence isn't at risk of reinjuring his right shoulder on Sunday, so if the Jaguars win the AFC South with a victory, he should be all systems go next weekend for the wild-card round of the postseason. Lawrence won't be getting receiver Christian Kirk (groin) back from Injured Reserve.

Trevor Lawrence Pushing To Play In Week 18

Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence (shoulder, finger) is officially listed as questionable for the Week 18 matchup against the Tennessee Titans. It looks like the star quarterback will be a game-time decision, but is pushing to play. This is a must-win game for the Jags and it doesn't sound like Lawrence is at risk of reinjuring himself. This will likely come down to how Lawrence feels closer to kickoff. His absence would mean that C.J. Beathard would be under center once again. If Beathard starts then the entire Jags offense will take a hit in value. Fantasy managers will have to check back for official word closer to game time.

Trevor Lawrence Questionable, Could Be Game-Time Decision

Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence (shoulder, finger) will be questionable to play in the Week 18 regular season finale against the Tennessee Titans on Sunday, and a decision on whether he plays could go up to game time. "If he's good to go, he's good to go. If he's out there, he's rolling," head coach Doug Pederson said. Lawrence sprained his right shoulder in Week 16 and didn't play in last week's win over the Carolina Panthers as a result. The 24-year-old did a little bit of throwing on Wednesday and Thursday. If we had to guess, Lawrence will be active this weekend in a must-win game for Jacksonville, and he could be getting receiver Christian Kirk (groin) back as well. With several big-name QBs being rested in the regular season finale, Lawrence will have low-end QB1 appeal for fantasy managers still playing for a championship if he's active on Sunday morning.

Trevor Lawrence Does Some Throwing Thursday

Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence (shoulder) did some throwing on Thursday at the portion of practice open to the media, which is a positive sign as he attempts to play in a must-win Week 18 contest against the Tennessee Titans this Sunday. Lawrence put in a limited practice on Wednesday after missing the Week 17 win over the Carolina Panthers due to a right-shoulder injury he suffered in Week 16. All signs are pointing toward the 24-year-old returning this weekend to try and lead the team to a win and the AFC South title. Lawrence could be getting receiver Christian Kirk (core) back as well, which would only boost his fantasy value in Week 18 with many other high-end QBs being rested ahead of the playoffs next week.

Trevor Lawrence Will Be Limited Wednesday

Updating a previous report, Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence (shoulder) will practice on a limited basis on Wednesday. It's a step toward playing in the must-win Week 18 regular season finale on Sunday against the Tennessee Titans. Lawrence injured his shoulder in Week 16 and was held out of the Week 17 victory over the Carolina Panthers. The 24-year-old is considered day-to-day for now, but it appears both he and receiver Christian Kirk (core) could be active this weekend in game the Jaguars need to win to secure the AFC South division. Since Week 13, Lawrence has dealt with a sprained ankle, a concussion and now a shoulder injury. He's thrown for 990 yards, seven touchdowns and five interceptions in his last four games played and will be a low-end QB1 for fantasy managers if he's able to play on Sunday against Tennessee.

Jan 3, 2024 12:01 PM EST

Trevor Lawrence Could Practice On Wednesday

Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence (shoulder) could be a limited participant in practice on Wednesday, according to head coach Doug Pederson. Lawrence missed the first game of his NFL career last week, but the Jags defeated the Carolina Panthers with C.J. Beathard. In Week 18, Jacksonville can clinch the AFC South and a home playoff game in the Wild Card Round with a win over the Tennessee Titans. Needless to say, it's an important contest, and Lawrence will likely play if he's anywhere close to healthy. Fantasy managers or DFS gamers who are still competing in Week 18 should check back for the team's official injury report later in the day.

Trevor Lawrence "Progressing"

Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Doug Pederson said that quarterback Trevor Lawrence (shoulder) is "progressing" and "we'll see" what his limitations are at practice on Wednesday. Lawrence has been beat up in recent weeks and missed the first game of his career in the Week 17 win over the Carolina Panthers. The 24-year-old will attempt to practice this week and play in a must-win Week 18 contest against the Tennessee Titans. C.J. Beathard took over the offense on Sunday and went 17-for-24 for 178 yards, no touchdowns or interceptions in the 26-0 win. In the Week 11 win over the Titans, Lawrence threw for 262 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions. We'll know more on whether he'll play in Week 18 after the Jaguars hold a few practices. If Lawrence is active, he'll be a low-end QB1 option in fantasy.

Trevor Lawrence Has A Chance To Play In Week 18

Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence (shoulder) will not play in Week 17 against the Carolina Panthers but he could return for the regular season finale in Week 18 against the Tennessee Titans if the team has yet to clinch a playoff spot. Lawrence suffered a right-shoulder injury in last week's loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and didn't practice all week, leading backup C.J. Beathard to make his first start of the year for the Jaguars. It's been a rough couple of weeks for Lawrence, who initially sprained his ankle in Week 13 against the Cincinnati Bengals and then suffered a concussion in Week 15 against the Baltimore Ravens. The Jags are hoping his right shoulder is healed enough to play in Week 18 and into the playoffs. Beathard will be a low-end QB2 for desperate fantasy managers, even in a matchup against Carolina.

Trevor Lawrence Listed As DNP

Updating a previous report, Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence (shoulder) was listed as a non-participant on Thursday for the second straight day. A previous report suggested that he put in a limited practice session. The 24-year-old signal-caller is dealing with a sprained AC joint in his right throwing shoulder and is up in the air to suit up in Week 17 against the Carolina Panthers. Lawrence said earlier this week he was feeling better, but he's not going to throw much this week, regardless of whether he ends up playing. The young QB hasn't been the same the last several weeks while playing through an ankle sprain and also dealing with a concussion, and now he's got a shoulder injury to worry about. If he gets the green light, fantasy managers should consider him more of a low-end QB2 against a Carolina defense that hasn't been very friendly to opposing QBs in 2023.

Trevor Lawrence Returns To Limited Practice

Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence, who suffered a sprained AC joint in his right throwing shoulder in the Week 16 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, returned to a limited practice on Thursday after sitting out on Wednesday, according to head coach Doug Pederson. "If Trevor plays, we're all-in on that. If C.J. Beathard plays, we're all in on that it's a tough decision," Pederson said. Lawrence said he's feeling better but isn't going to do a lot of throwing in the lead-up to Week 17's game against the Carolina Panthers. The 24-year-old signal-caller has yet to miss a game since being drafted in 2021 and will give it his best shot to be active this Sunday. In the last four weeks, Lawrence has battled through an ankle sprain, a concussion and now a sprained shoulder, making him harder to trust in fantasy as a QB1.

Trevor Lawrence Feeling Better, Still Misses Practice

Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence (shoulder) said his right shoulder is feeling better but he's not going to do much throwing this week as he tries to play in Week 17 against the Carolina Panthers on Sunday. Lawrence was listed as a non-participant in Wednesday's practice. He suffered a sprained AC joint in the third quarter of Sunday's loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. If Lawrence doesn't get cleared to play this weekend, C.J. Beathard would make his first start since the 2020 regular season finale with the San Francisco 49ers. Lawrence has yet to miss a game in his career, though, starting 49 consecutive games in the regular season and two in the playoffs since being drafted first overall in 2021. The 24-year-old can't seem to stay healthy in the second half of this year, as he's also dealt with ankle and concussion issues in recent weeks.

Dec 27, 2023 6:02 PM EST

Trevor Lawrence Progressing But Still Uncertain For Week 17

Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence (shoulder) suffered an AC joint sprain in his team's Week 16 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. According to head coach Doug Pederson, Lawrence is making progress but his shoulder is still feeling sore two days after the game. Pederson was noncommital as to whether Lawrence would be able to practice on Wednesday as the Jags begin preparing to take on the Carolina Panthers in Week 17. With Lawrence's Week 17 status still in question, it could be backup C.J. Beathard under center against Carolina on Sunday. Fantasy gamers interested in starting Lawrence in the fantasy championship round will want to stay tuned to Jacksonville's practice reports and final injury report this week.

Trevor Lawrence Has A Sprained Shoulder

According to NFL Media's Ian Rapoport, Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence (shoulder) suffered a sprained right shoulder during Sunday's loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. An MRI on Monday confirmed the diagnosis. Fortunately, the injury isn't considered "major," although it's unknown if he'll miss time. The signal-caller has battled countless ailments throughout the 2023-24 campaign, including an ankle injury suffered in the overtime loss to the Cincinnati Bengals. He also entered Week 16 with a questionable tag because of a concussion. Yet, Lawrence hasn't missed a game all season, so it would be surprising if he didn't suit up in Week 17 versus the Carolina Panthers. However, The 24-year-old hasn't been consistently reliable this season, so he may not be the best fantasy option in Week 17, even with a favorable matchup on the horizon.

Dec 25, 2023 6:39 PM EST

Trevor Lawrence's Shoulder Will Be Evaluated Monday

Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence (shoulder) will get his injured shoulder evaluated on Monday after picking up the issue while diving out of bounds late in Sunday's loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Lawrence is starting to give Derek Carr a run for his money as the NFL's most banged-up signal-caller of 2023. The 24-year-old suffered an ankle sprain in Week 13 but gutted it out to suit up in Week 14, later entering the league's concussion protocol last Sunday night before his latest setback. The 8-7 Jaguars close Week 16 on a four-game losing skid and in a three-way tie atop the AFC South. Jacksonville fortunately draws a highly favorable matchup at home versus the 2-13 Carolina Panthers next Sunday, though it remains to be seen if their franchise QB will be available. C.J. Beathard would likely start if Lawrence is out in Week 17, hurting the fantasy expectations of those around him in the process.

Dec 25, 2023 2:19 AM EST

Trevor Lawrence Has Disastrous Game Against Bucs

Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence completed 17-of-29 passes for 211 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions vs. Tampa Bay on Sunday. Lawrence added four rushes for 29 yards on the ground but also fumbled twice, losing one in the defeat. It was another letdown performance from the young quarterback, whose day was also cut short due to a shoulder injury sustained in the third quarter which caused Lawrence to miss the entire last period. He threw an interception on Jacksonville's first offensive drive and things did not improve whatsoever the rest of the way. Lawrence was able to connect with WR Calvin Ridley for an 18-yard score late in the third quarter that somewhat salvaged what could've been a week-losing performance, but overall it was the third lowest output of 2023 for the former No. 1 overall pick. He'll look to bounce back in Week 17 vs. Carolina.

Dec 24, 2023 7:57 PM EST

Trevor Lawrence Officially Active

Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence (head) has been cleared to play ahead of Sunday's Week 16 matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The superstar quarterback was placed into concussion protocol after last week's loss to the Baltimore Ravens. Lawrence is officially active for this game, but is unlikely to be 100 percent healthy. He has been dealing with a lingering ankle issue for about a month. Despite that, fantasy managers should still be able to count on Lawrence against the shaky Bucs secondary. He'll be a high-end QB2 for this Week 16 matchup.

Dec 24, 2023 3:43 PM EST

Trevor Lawrence Expected To Play On Sunday

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence (head) is expected to play on Sunday versus Tampa Bay. The 24-year-old has gotten banged up in the last month, suffering an ankle injury in the Monday night overtime loss to the Bengals in Week 13. He continues to deal with the ankle issue. However, Lawrence was placed in concussion protocol after the Week 15 loss to Baltimore. But after it appeared Lawrence was a lock to sit in Week 16, he cleared concussion protocol on Friday and traveled with the team. Nevertheless, the Bucs defense has struggled against opposing quarterbacks this season, meaning Lawrence's outlook is promising. But he likely won't be 100% if he suits up, which isn't an ideal scenario. At the same time, Zay Jones (knee, hamstring) may also get ruled out, lessening Lawrence's fantasy potential. That said, a case can be made for the signal-caller to have a place in all fantasy lineups, although he remains a risky option.
