Los Angeles Chargers running back Austin Ekeler (knee) missed another practice on Thursday. Ekeler suffered an ankle injury in the season opener and hasn't practiced since while also missing the Week 2 overtime loss to the Tennessee Titans. He says he's made some progress, but unless he's able to get back on the field in some capacity on Friday, he's likely to miss a second straight game this Sunday on the road against the Minnesota Vikings. Joshua Kelley disappointed as a plug-and-play fantasy option with Ekeler out last weekend, but he'd be worth another shot in fantasy lineups in Minnesota against a porous defense if Ekeler misses another game. Check back on Friday for Ekeler's final status for Sunday's game.

Houston Texans running back Devin Singletary signed a one-year deal with the team this offseason and will make his season debut against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 1. Singletary will likely backup young running back Dameon Pierce this year. But the veteran's exact role remains to be seen. He could be used more in the passing game, as the running back is coming off three consecutive seasons of 35-plus catches with the Buffalo Bills. With an unknown role in Week 1, Singletary should only be started in deeper formats.
