New England Patriots quarterback Bailey Zappe completed just 12 of 30 passes (40 percent) for 88 yards, zero touchdowns, and two interceptions during Sunday's loss to the New York Jets. He also rushed for 13 yards. Snow and wind contributed to a very shaky game for Zappe, who took over as the Patriots' starting quarterback during the second half of the season. The New England Patriots have signed quarterback Matt Corral to their practice squad, according to beat writer Doug Kyed. Corral was with the Carolina Panthers during the preseason but was released on August 31 before signing with the Pats. New England then waived Corral on September 9 but he ended up clearing waivers, so he's back with the team. Bailey Zappe is the primary backup to Mac Jones while Corral and rookie Malik Cunningham are emergency/practice squad options for New England.
