Brandin Cooks Could be Losing Playing Time in New Orleans

Saturday, October 11, 12:12 PM

New Orleans Saints wide receiver Brandin Cooks has recorded 12 catches for 103 yards on 16 targets across five games so far this season. The 32-year-old has served as the team's WR3 alongside Chris Olave and Rashid Shaheed, but if Week 5 is any indication, Cooks could be losing playing time. In Week 5, Cooks played just five more offensive snaps than Saints wideout Devaughn Vele after playing 56 more offensive snaps than Vele in Week 4. In Week 6, the Saints will take on the New England Patriots, who rank fifth-worst in yards per pass attempt allowed (8.2) through five games. Still, Cooks appears unlikely to see enough target volume to be fantasy relevant and could be losing playing time altogether in New England. Cooks should remain off the radar of fantasy managers in Week 6.

Adonai Mitchell a Healthy Scratch in Week 6

Sunday, October 12, 12:13 PM

Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Adonai Mitchell is a healthy scratch for the team's Week 6 contest on Sunday against the visiting Arizona Cardinals at Lucas Oil Stadium. With Alec Pierce (concussion) returning after a two-game absence, Mitchell will be the odd man out in Indy's receiving corps. The 23-year-old is firmly in head coach Shane Steichen's doghouse after two big blunders in the Week 4 loss to the Los Angeles Rams that cost the team the game. Mitchell dropped the football just before crossing the goal line in what would have been a long touchdown catch, and then he was called for holding on a big running play that would have gone for a touchdown. After that rough Week 4, Mitchell has fallen down the receiving depth chart for the Colts and is currently behind Michael Pittman Jr., Josh Downs, Pierce, and Ashton Dulin.
