Cade Otton is Barely on Fantasy Radar for Week 7

Tampa Bay Buccaneers tight end Cade Otton has barely been a factor lately. Over the last two games, Otton has hauled in four receptions for 29 yards. The hope is that the return of Baker Mayfield (thumb) in Week 7 will boost the overall value of Otton. Also, the absence of top wide receiver Emeka Egbuka (foot, concussion) could play a factor as well. The hope is that Otton bounces back against the Carolina Panthers this weekend, but fantasy managers still shouldn't trust him as a starting option. He'll offer a low floor even with Egbuka out and Mayfield back under center. Fantasy managers should keep Otton on the bench until he proves he can offer viable value.

Sam LaPorta Remains a Must-Start Tight End in Week 7

Across five games in 2026, Detroit Lions tight end Sam LaPorta has recorded 27 catches for 316 yards and three touchdowns. The 25-year-old was playing some of his best football before Detroit's Week 6 bye, recording back-to-back games with at least 80 receiving yards and a touchdown. Coming out of the bye in Week 7, the Lions will take on the Green Bay Packers. Green Bay has defended well against the pass in 2026, ranking third in the NFL in yards per pass attempt allowed (6.0) and eighth in passing touchdowns allowed (seven). However, Detroit could be forced to turn to the air early and often if their defense continues to struggle as it has for most of the season so far. As long as Lions quarterback Jared Goff attempts 30-plus passes, LaPorta should have plenty of opportunities to produce. All in all, LaPorta remains a must-start tight end for fantasy managers in Week 7.
