Jaguars Signing Chris Rodriguez Jr. on Wednesday

Wednesday, March 11, 1:39 PM

The Jacksonville Jaguars are signing former Washington Commanders running back Chris Rodriguez Jr. to an undisclosed two-year deal on Wednesday, sources told Jordan Schultz of FOX Sports. Rodriguez will head to the AFC South after three years in Washington. The 25-year-old former sixth-round pick by the Commanders in 2023 out of Kentucky had his best year in 2025, carrying the ball 112 times for 500 yards and six touchdowns, which were all career-highs. He also caught three passes for 30 yards in 13 games played (seven starts) in D.C. In his three years with Washington, C-Rod had 10 rushing touchdowns while averaging a healthy 4.6 yards per tote. Jacksonville lost Travis Etienne Jr. to the New Orleans Saints in free agency and will now go into the 2026 campaign with Rodriguez, Bhayshul Tuten, and LeQuint Allen Jr. as their backfield options, barring another RB addition in the upcoming draft. Tuten figures to be the Jags' RB1, but Rodriguez could easily have flex appeal in a complementary role in a rising offense.

Seahawks Bring Back Rashid Shaheed on Three-Year Deal

Monday, March 9, 2:32 PM

The Seattle Seahawks are re-signing wide receiver Rashid Shaheed to a three-year, $51 million deal on Monday that includes $34.7 million guaranteed, agents Drew Rosenhaus and Robert Bailey told ESPN's Adam Schefter. For fantasy purposes, it might have been better for Shaheed to go elsewhere, as he only caught 15 of 26 targets for 188 yards and no touchdowns in nine regular-season games for Seattle last year after they acquired him in a midseason trade from the New Orleans Saints. Shaheed was much more involved on offense in New Orleans, catching 44 of 66 targets for 499 yards and two touchdowns. He will return to the Super Bowl champions as a field stretcher to help get Jaxon Smith-Njigba open underneath. Shaheed is also an excellent kick returner on special teams, being named to his second Pro Bowl last year. Perhaps he'll have a bigger role on offense in his first full year with the team, but Cooper Kupp and Tory Horton are still in the WR room. Shaheed will be more of a boom/bust WR4/flex option for fantasy managers in 2026.
