Chuba Hubbard rushed for 16 yards on three carries in Carolina's 20-9 defeat to the 49ers. He saw more production in the passing game as he caught all four of his targets for 27 yards. The Carolina RB posted 8.3 PPR points, which was his most since Week 8. Hubbard also played the most snaps in a single game this year since Week 8, at 35%. At this point in the season, Hubbard remains a backup RB for the Panthers and is only worth rostering as a fantasy handcuff to Rico Dowdle. Fantasy players who do not have Dowdle, but do have Hubbard, can cut the Panthers' backup RB if he is still on their rosters. He will work on many passing downs for Carolina, but not enough to post quality fantasy totals.

Pittsburgh Steelers running back Kaleb Johnson has seen a minimal role in the offense during his rookie season. However, Johnson could see an increased role this week. Lead back Jaylen Warren (ankle) is currently uncertain to suit up against the Chicago Bears in Week 12. If he sits, Kenneth Gainwell figures to take over as the lead back with Johnson presumably being the backup. Last week, Johnson rushed the ball five times for 15 yards in the win over the Cincinnati Bengals. Gainwell is the better option between the two right now, but Johnson might have some deep league appeal if Warren is unable to play.
Still trying to decide between Hubbard and Johnson? Check on the latest news to make sure both players are active and healthy. Our PPR projections show that Chuba Hubbard is projected to score 10.9 points this week while Kaleb Johnson is projected to score 10.2 points.
