Colt McCoy Released By Cardinals

Monday, August 28, 3:02 PM

The Arizona Cardinals released veteran quarterback Colt McCoy on Monday. McCoy has been getting reps with the first-team offense during the preseason but looks to be the odd man out after the team traded for Joshua Dobbs. The 36-year-old started 36 games and appeared in 56 games over the last 13 seasons, passing for 7,975 yards, 34 touchdowns, and 32 interceptions. He could have some interest from other organizations. After his release, Dobbs and rookie quarterback Clayton Tune will seemingly compete to be the team's Week 1 starter against the Washington Commanders. Both will have low ceilings in a mediocre Cardinals' offense. Kyler Murray (PUP) will miss at least the first four games of 2023.

Justin Fields Blames Coaching For Struggles?

Wednesday, September 20, 2:30 PM

Chicago Bears quarterback Justin Fields came into the 2023 season as a breakout candidate, but his career passing struggles have continued through his first two games. The third-year signal-caller has completed just 40 passes for 427 yards, two touchdowns, and three interceptions in losses to the Green Bay Packers and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Fields said he thinks he is playing too robotic and thinking too much. When asked what is causing him to think too much, he frankly said, "Coaching." This is not what you want to hear from a franchise quarterback, so things could be heading south quickly for Chicago and its offensive pieces. He continues to be a must-start quarterback in fantasy football thanks to his rushing upside, but that could change if he continues to fall flat.
