Cooper Kupp Not Worth Rostering in Week 1

Tuesday, September 8, 2:22 PM

Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Cooper Kupp has entered an era in which he is far more important to the real-life Seahawks than he is to fantasy managers. Kupp is not a player you should be starting or even rostering in Week 1 against the New England Patriots. Kupp finished as the WR53 in 2025 on 47 receptions for 593 yards. He made plays when Seattle needed him to, but he was not a needle-mover for fantasy. Additionally, Kupp's role in the passing game waned as the season wore on. He only surpassed four targets in a game once following the team's Week 8 bye. With Rashid Shaheed and Tory Horton (hamstring) in line for more touches this coming season, Kupp feels like he could be the odd man out in fantasy football. Additionally, with Jaxon Smith-Njigba soaking up so many targets in a low-volume offense, as well, Kupp should not be considered in Week 1.

Malachi Fields News

Malachi Fields Is Becoming Harder to Keep Off the Field

Wednesday, September 9, 11:25 AM

New York Giants wide receiver Malachi Fields was already making a push before Darius Slayton was released, and that move only makes the rookie more interesting. Fields impressed throughout the summer and caught all three of his preseason targets for 34 yards and a touchdown, while also getting work with the first-team offense. Slayton had fallen behind by the end of camp, so his departure shouldn't be treated as the only reason Fields has a chance here. It does leave New York with just four receivers on the active roster. Malik Nabers and Darnell Mooney are still listed as the starters, with Fields behind Nabers on the current depth chart, but the third-round pick is getting increasingly difficult to leave out of the offensive plans. He still has to show he can earn regular-season targets before becoming a weekly fantasy option. The opportunity is opening quickly, though, and Fields looks much closer to a meaningful role than he did when camp began.
