Detroit Lions running back Craig Reynolds played most of the first half in Friday's 26-17 win over Carolina, taking 11 carries for 41 yards and a touchdown and catching his lone target for a five-yard gain. Reynolds played the vast majority of snaps with Teddy Bridgewater and the second-string offense. Since top backs Jahmyr Gibbs and David Montgomery were rested, it's hard to imagine Reynolds getting much work as the No. 3 RB if both guys ahead of him remain healthy for Week 1 at Kansas City. At this point, he's best left on the waiver wire in most fantasy leagues.

Pittsburgh Steelers running back Anthony McFarland Jr. handled 10 carries for 55 yards and a touchdown in the team's preseason victory over the Atlanta Falcons. McFarland relieved Najee Harris and Jaylen Warren of their duties in the first quarter and received plenty of opportunities in the first half. The fourth-year pro powered through multiple Falcons defenders for a five-yard score in the second quarter that gave the Steelers a 24-0 lead. After an impressive summer, McFarland has given himself a great shot to make the final 53-man roster but is unlikely to make an impact for fantasy football in 2023.
