D'Andre Swift Still Managing Ankle Injury

Wednesday, November 29, 8:17 PM

Philadelphia Eagles running back D'Andre Swift (ankle) is on the Week 13 injury report and was limited in the team's first practice of the week on Wednesday. Swift was also managing an ankle injury last week before suiting up and playing 63 percent of the offensive snaps on his way to 15 touches and 84 scrimmage yards in the overtime win over the Buffalo Bills in Week 12. Unless the 24-year-old suffers a setback with his ankle later this week in practice, he should be fine to play in this weekend's big clash against the San Francisco 49ers. Kenneth Gainwell still mixes in here and there in this backfield, but it's been Swift's primary gig since Week 1 basically. He'll have a lower ceiling and floor in a tough matchup on Sunday as more of a low-end RB2 in fantasy.

MRI Confirms Torn Achilles For Cam Akers

Monday, November 6, 2:12 PM

Minnesota Vikings running back Cam Akers (Achilles) underwent an MRI to determine the extent of his Achilles injury that he suffered in the Week 9 win over the Atlanta Falcons. Unfortunately, Akers is confirmed to have suffered a torn Achilles for the second time in his short NFL career. The 24-year-old tore his right Achilles in 2021 as a member of the Los Angeles Rams, and he tore his left Achilles on Sunday. Obviously, the former second-round pick will miss the remainder of the 2023 season, and his career could be at risk of being cut short. With him out of the picture, Alexander Mattison will remain the Vikings' starter. Ty Chandler is likely to assume the RB2 role once again.
