The New York Giants already announced that they are not picking up the fifth-year option on offensive tackle Evan Neal heading into the final year of his rookie deal in 2025, and now he's set for a position change. The New York Post's Paul Schwartz reports that the Giants will attempt to resuscitate Neal's NFL career by moving him from tackle to guard. The 24-year-old former seventh overall pick in the 2022 NFL draft out of Alabama has failed to live up to his draft position at right tackle and was benched early in the 2024 season. In addition to his poor play, Neal also dealt with hip and rib injuries and played in just 16 games over the last two seasons. Even if Neal takes well to the position switch in 2025, there's no guarantee that he'll stick around in the Big Apple beyond next year. He is expected to compete at the right-guard spot in training camp this summer.
