David Montgomery Does Not Practice Thursday

Thursday, September 21, 1:42 PM

Detroit Lions running back David Montgomery (quad) missed his second consecutive day of practice on Thursday. The fifth-year veteran was injured in the Lions' Week 2 game against the Seattle Seahawks, suffering a deep bruise to his thigh on a play in the third quarter. So far, Montgomery has seen the most work out of the backfield, getting 37 rushing attempts to rookie Jahmyr Gibbs' 14. Gibbs could have the breakout fantasy managers drafted him for his Montgomery misses time. The Lions take on the Atlanta Falcons at home in Week 3.

Isiah Pacheco Back At Practice

Thursday, September 21, 2:57 PM

After being held out of practice on Wednesday, Kansas City Chiefs running back Isiah Pacheco (hamstring) was on the field on Thursday. Pacheco will likely be listed as limited on Thursday's injury report, but the return to action gives him a chance to suit up in Week 3 against the Chicago Bears. The 24-year-old second-year back dominated the team's backfield touches in the Week 2 victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars, taking 12 carries for 70 yards. Through two games this year, he's had 20 rushing attempts for 93 yards (4.7 yards per tote), adding five catches for 31 yards, but he's yet to find the end zone. As long as he's active this Sunday in Kansas City, he should once again serve as the Chiefs' lead back.
