DeMario Douglas Seeing Expanded Route Tree

Wednesday, July 29, 11:44 AM

New England Patriots wide receiver DeMario Douglas is seeing his usage and route tree expanded during training camp compared with recent seasons, according to the Boston Herald. Douglas caught 31 passes for 447 yards and three touchdowns across 17 games in 2025, averaging a career-high 14.4 yards per reception. New England already pushed him farther downfield last season, when he averaged a career-high 9.7 air yards per target and tied his career best with four deep receptions. The latest camp usage suggests the Patriots are continuing to explore ways to deploy Douglas beyond a traditional underneath slot role. A.J. Brown and Romeo Doubs project as the top two receivers, while Douglas is competing with Kayshon Boutte, Mack Hollins, and Kyle Williams for snaps in three-receiver sets. The broader route tree improves Douglas' path to staying involved, but his fantasy value will still depend on whether the expanded responsibilities lead to consistent playing time and targets.

Chimere Dike News

Chimere Dike Faces Uphill Battle to Second-Year Breakout

Tuesday, July 21, 11:21 AM

Tennessee Titans wide receiver Chimere Dike outplayed expectations during his rookie season. The 24-year-old was primarily drafted in the fourth round in 2025 to contribute on special teams as a punt and kick returner. However, Dike hauled in 48 catches for 423 yards and four touchdowns on 74 targets after the team battled injuries all season. This offseason, the Titans fortified the receiving depth chart by adding Wan'Dale Robinson, Carnell Tate, and restructuring Calvin Ridley's contract to keep him in Tennessee. Additionally, Dike will be battling with Elic Ayomanor and Gunnar Helm for targets in a crowded passing offense. While many are projecting Cam Ward to take his game to the next level, it has yet to be seen if he can sustain multiple fantasy-relevant pass-catchers. Dike will face stiff competition to earn targets this season in hopes of avoiding getting lost in a deep receiving room.
