DeVonta Smith Out With Back Tightness on Monday

Monday, July 28, 12:10 PM

Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver DeVonta Smith (back) is not taking part in Monday's training camp practice due to back tightness, according to the team. It doesn't sound like Smith's back injury is particularly serious, so hopefully he'll be back on the field in a matter of days. If his back injury were to linger, though, it would give more opportunities to Jahan Dotson, Terrace Marshall, Ainias Smith and Johnny Wilson behind WR1 A.J. Brown. Smith has only missed five of 77 games since he entered the league in 2021 despite his slim build. What he lacks in pure volume, the 26-year-old makes up for in efficiency deep down the field as one of the better No. 2 wideouts in the league behind Brown in an offense with plenty of mouths to feed. As long as Smith's back injury doesn't linger, he'll be a fine low-end WR2/high-end WR3 target in fantasy drafts.

Rashee Rice News

Rashee Rice Heavily Targeted on Tuesday

Tuesday, July 22, 1:31 PM

ESPN's Nate Taylor reports that Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice was the biggest winner of Tuesday's training camp practice and was the most-targeted receiver for quarterback Patrick Mahomes. Charles Goldman of A to Z Sports reported that Rice was most active working across the middle of the field on crossing routes and in the red zone. The 25-year-old is returning from an LCL tear that he suffered last year, but he's a full-go at camp this summer and should be a huge part of KC's passing attack in 2025. With that said, his fantasy stock has taken a hit this year because of the fact that the NFL is expected to suspend him for three or four games after a hit-and-run incident. Even though a suspension is probably coming, Rice could make quite a bit of noise in 2025 now that he's healthy. RotoBaller currently has him ranked as the WR26.
