Wide receiver DJ Chark announced on his social media on Friday that he is retiring from professional football, according to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network. Chark was originally drafted in the second round (61st overall) by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the 2018 NFL draft out of LSU. The 29-year-old spent the first four years of his NFL career in Duvall, catching 147 of his 265 targets for 2,042 receiving yards and 15 touchdowns in 43 games (30 starts). His lone Pro Bowl season came in 2019 with Jacksonville, when he had a career year with 73 catches, 1,008 yards, and eight touchdowns in 15 games played. After his time with the Jags, Chark spent the final three years of his career with the Detroit Lions, Carolina Panthers, and Los Angeles Chargers, combining for 69 catches for 1,058 yards and nine touchdowns on 128 targets over 33 total games. Chark signed with Atlanta at the start of training camp last year but was released in August. He finishes his seven-year NFL career with 216 catches, 3,100 yards, and 24 total touchdowns in 76 games (51 starts).

Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Rashod Bateman is not among the top-50 fantasy receivers in half-PPR scoring through the first seven weeks of the season, having caught only 18 of his 26 targets for 266 yards and one touchdown in seven games played. Outside of his seven-catch, 88-yard performance with his only touchdown of the season in the Week 2 loss to the New Orleans Saints, Bateman has done very little for fantasy managers and has not been consistent enough to warrant consideration as a flex option in 12-team leagues. That is more true than ever now that rookie Ja'Kobi Lane is back from Injured Reserve following a wrist injury. Bateman played 73% of the offensive snaps in last week's loss to the division-rival Cincinnati Bengals, but in Lane's first game back from IR in Week 6, he played a season-low 30% of the Ravens' snaps. The return of starting quarterback Lamar Jackson (ankle) in Week 8 against the Buffalo Bills is good news for Bateman and the rest of Baltimore's pass-catchers, but it probably is not going to be enough to convince fantasy managers to throw Bateman into their starting lineups.
