Dyami Brown Stands Out at First OTA Practice

Monday, May 19, 10:49 PM

Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Dyami Brown, who was picked up in free agency in the offseason, stood out in the team's first OTA practice on Monday, according to SI.com's John Shipley. Shipley writes that Brown made it clear that defenses will not be able to afford considering him an afterthought alongside Brian Thomas Jr. and rookie first-rounder Travis Hunter. Brown ran crisp routes and was one of the few receivers who didn't deal with drops while making explosive plays through the air and on designed touches as a ball-carrier. The 25-year-old earned praise from both head coach Liam Coen and offensive coordinator Grant Udinski. Brown, a former third-rounder by the Washington Commanders in 2021 out of North Carolina, mostly lingered at the bottom of the wideout depth chart in D.C. However, he could become the No. 2 WR if Hunter spends most of his time on defense in 2025.

Adonai Mitchell Impresses at Minicamp

Monday, June 16, 12:23 PM

The Athletic's Stephen Holder writes that Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Adonai Mitchell had one of the most impressive performances at last week's mandatory minicamp. The 22-year-old second-round pick (52nd overall) in 2024 had an uneven and frustrating rookie campaign and finished with 23 catches on 55 targets for 312 yards and no touchdowns in 17 games (seven starts). Mitchell also looked good in training camp last summer, so now it's a matter of him taking his practice reps into the regular season. "I think last offseason, same thing. Did some really good things. He's had a hell of an offseason so far through OTAs. [I] expect that to continue through training camp. But getting to those game situations, [it's] just continuing to get those game reps and really taking that next step," head coach Shane Steichen said. Mitchell has the talent to take the next step, but target volume could be an issue again.
