Elliot Fry Reaches Injury Settlement With Broncos

Wednesday, August 23, 11:19 AM

The Denver Broncos waived kicker Elliot Fry (undisclosed) off Injured Reserve on Tuesday after reaching an injury settlement. It means Fry will now be able to sign with another team for the 2023 season. Brett Maher is still the leading candidate to be Denver's opening-day kicker in Week 1 against the division-rival Las Vegas Raiders. It's unclear exactly what the 28-year-old Fry is dealing with, and it remains to be seen if another team will give him a chance to compete for a kicking job this summer. He didn't kick at all in the NFL last year and spent the 2021 season with the Cincinnati Bengals and Kansas City Chiefs, going 4-for-5 on field-goal attempts in just two games.

Matt Gay A Sneaky Option in Week 11 Versus Dolphins

Saturday, November 15, 11:08 AM

Washington Commanders kicker Matt Gay hasn't been the most reliable fantasy option this season, failing to score double-digit points since his Week 4 performance against the Atlanta Falcons. Gay has struggled from long range, with three of his four misses coming on attempts of 50 yards or more. As Washington's offense has slowed down recently, the 31-year-old has only attempted one field goal over the past three games, excluding the Week 7 matchup that he missed due to a back injury. The Commanders travel to Madrid, Spain, in Week 11 to take on the Miami Dolphins in what could be a high-scoring game featuring two defenses that are allowing over 25 points per game this season. Gay could have more opportunities in this matchup and carries some streaming value.
