Freddie Swain Has Solid First Outing With Philadelphia

Friday, August 25, 9:30 AM

Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Freddie Swain caught 6-of-8 targets and gained 33 yards during the team's 27-13 preseason loss to the Indianapolis Colts. The 25-year-old tied for the team lead in receptions Thursday night with his top competition for a roster spot, Deon Cain. Cain, however, gained nearly double the yardage and looked more explosive. With Tyrie Cleveland waived due to injury, the final wide receiver spot for the Eagles is up for grabs, and it seems to be down to Swain and Cain after their performances Thursday. Cain may have the upper hand due to being on the roster for a more extended period of time, but Swain should revert to the practice squad if he does not make the final 53-man roster after cutdowns.

Elijah Moore Trending Up Heading Into Thursday Night Game

Wednesday, November 20, 10:24 PM

ESPN's Jeremy Fowler thinks Cleveland Browns wide receiver Elijah Moore is a sleeper for WR2 duty heading into a divisional showdown in primetime on Thursday night against the Pittsburgh Steelers to kick off Week 12 action. Moore has had 29 targets the last three weeks with quarterback Jameis Winston running the offense. He had 66 receiving yards and his first touchdown of the year in the Week 11 loss to the New Orleans Saints. At 2-8 on the year, Fowler sees no reason why the Browns will stray from a high-volume passing attack with Winston in a tough matchup against the visiting Steelers this week. There's no arguing that Cleveland's pass-catchers have become more interesting with Winston under center, but the matchup certainly isn't ideal for fantasy purposes against a top defense with nasty weather expected.
