New York Jets running back Isaiah Davis (ankle) suffered an ankle injury in his team's 30-10 win against the Green Bay Packers on Saturday, according to ESPN's Rich Cimini. The 23-year-old mixed in on the first drive with the starters and closed out the first half with running mate Braelon Allen in New York's victory. It's unclear when he picked up the ankle issue, but head coach Aaron Glenn doesn't seem to be too perturbed by it, noting that he and running back Kene Nwangwu's (calf) injuries aren't "thought to be serious." It's significant that Davis got in playing time with the first string offense, as the Jets' deployment of running back touches could be a true committee. That isn't a foregone conclusion, but the current situation is shaping up to be a headache for fantasy managers. Hopefully, that's given more clarity after they meet with the Giants next Saturday.

Kansas City Chiefs rookie running back Brashard Smith (finger) suffered a finger injury in training camp practice on Thursday and left early, according to Chiefs beat writer Matt McMullen. It is unknown if Smith's injury is serious, but it could keep him from taking part in the preseason opener on Saturday against the Arizona Cardinals. If the 22-year-old is healthy going into his first NFL season, he figures to be the RB4, at best, for the Chiefs, behind Isiah Pacheco, Kareem Hunt and Elijah Mitchell. The SMU product is a converted receiver that can be ignored in all redraft fantasy formats this fall. In his first year in the NFL, the speedy pass-catching back will most likely make his biggest impact on special teams, potentially as a kick returner.
