Jalen Nailor Should See Increased Early-Season Role

Tuesday, August 5, 5:08 PM

Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Jalen Nailor is in a position to see an elevated workload early in the 2025 season with fellow wideout Jordan Addison set to serve a three-game suspension. While Addison won't be prohibited from practice or even preseason games, this sets the stage for Nailor to garner a stronger rapport with second-year quarterback J.J. McCarthy. The 26-year-old was a training camp standout in 2024 and made a few highlight plays early in the campaign before tailing off as the season wore on. It's unknown how the Vikings offense will look with McCarthy at the helm, though Minnesota seems to be all in on him, and that counts for something. If he's the real deal, Nailor could have some sneaky low-end WR3 value in PPR formats -- at least for the first few weeks. He's currently an afterthought in drafts.

Roman Wilson Starts Off With First-Team Offense

Thursday, July 24, 5:06 PM

Penn Live's Nick Farabaugh reports that Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Roman Wilson is starting in three-wide sets with the first-team offense alongside DK Metcalf and Calvin Austin III to start training camp practice this week. Wilson, a third-rounder (84th overall) last year out of Michigan, missed the majority of his first season in the NFL due to injury and was active for just one game. With George Pickens in Dallas, there's plenty of opportunity for Wilson to make a statement in what will essentially be his first year in the league. Behind Wilson and Austin, the Steelers have only veteran Robert Woods, Scotty Miller and Ben Skowronek -- not exactly the most threatening competition. Wilson will have opportunity, but as a speedy deep threat across from Metcalf, it might be hard for him to stand out on a weekly basis.
