Jonnu Smith Leads Tight Ends Thursday

Friday, September 13, 12:07 PM

Miami Dolphins tight end Jonnu Smith hauled in 6-of-7 targets for 53 yards in Thursday night's 31-10 loss to the Buffalo Bills. He tied running back De'Von Achane for the team lead in targets. It was a rough night for Miami as Buffalo held them in check despite a first-quarter TD. Smith was more involved in this one than last week when Julian Hill (easily) led the Dolphins' TEs in snaps. However, the split was much more, even this Thursday. Smith had one less snap than Durham Smythe's 33 and just five more than Hill (28). This is beginning to feel like a tight-end-by-committee situation for Miami, which might not be fruitful for fantasy. Regardless, it will be tough to trust any Dolphins skill player next Sunday in Week 3 if quarterback Tua Tagovailoa (concussion) can't suit up. Skylar Thompson will start for the team if so.

Brock Bowers News

Brock Bowers Paces Raiders With Team-High Six Catches In NFL Debut

Monday, September 9, 10:53 AM

Las Vegas Raiders first-round rookie tight end Brock Bowers was a highlight, snagging six balls for 58 yards and showcasing his immediate impact with a team-high eight targets in Sunday's 22-10 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers. Bowers' biggest play of the game on Sunday was a 26-yard reception off a play-action pass. His integration into the offense looks promising, especially with his ability to find space in the middle. Bowers is shaping up to be a valuable TE option, particularly in PPR leagues. Bowers will look to build on Sunday's performance in a tough matchup against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 2.
