Jordan Addison Brings Risk, But Opportunity, To Week 2 Lineups

Friday, September 18, 12:41 PM

Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Jordan Addison should be considered a volatile WR4 option in Week 2, albeit one facing an excellent matchup against the Chicago Bears. Despite the Vikings scoring 39 points in Week 1, the fourth-year receiver didn't record a catch on just two targets. The Vikings also will be starting backup quarterback Carson Wentz again, as Minnesota already ruled out starter Kyler Murray (concussion). The Bears' defense, however, ranks 29th in air yards allowed and surrendered 351 yards passing to Carolina last week. While Addison is always in fellow receiver Justin Jefferson's shadow, the circumstances suggest a few high-value targets could be coming Addison's way this week. Managers who played Addison in Week 1 can't be faulted for feeling like Charlie Brown lining up to kick the football again, but the matchup is favorable enough that Addison is at least worthy of consideration for a flex spot, especially in deeper formats.

Zay Flowers News

Zay Flowers Doubtful for Week 2

Friday, September 18, 11:33 AM

Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Zay Flowers (hamstring) is doubtful for Sunday's game against New Orleans, according to Adam Schefter. Flowers returned to practice Friday after sitting out Wednesday and Thursday, but the final designation leaves his Week 2 availability in serious doubt. He caught five passes for 150 yards and a touchdown in the opener against Indianapolis before the hamstring forced him out in the first half. Flowers had already missed two weeks of training camp with the same issue. If he sits, Rashod Bateman would move up the receiver pecking order, while Devontez Walker is back after a groin injury kept him out of Week 1. Baltimore also has Ja'Kobi Lane on injured reserve with a wrist injury.
