Minnesota Vikings running back Jordan Mason is expected to be the main focus in the running game over the next few games. Recently, head coach Kevin O'Connell expressed confidence that Mason has bellcow potential. They expect Mason to handle a significant rushing workload while Aaron Jones (hamstring) is sidelined. The Vikings believe Mason is a multi-faceted player that can do just about anything on the football field. So far this season, Mason has rushed 24 times for 98 yards over the first two games of the season. There's not much competition behind Mason in the backfield right now. He should see all the carries he can handle, which should at least offer RB2 value for their upcoming matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Week 2 didn't go as expected for running back Breece Hall and the New York Jets' offense. The 24-year-old exploded for 107 rushing yards in the team's season opener, notching his first 100-yard effort on the ground since Week 6 of last season. However, Buffalo's defense proved too much for quarterback Justin Fields, who seemed to regress after his superb outing against the Steelers. Now, it's unclear which version we'll get from week to week. It isn't all doom and gloom for Hall, as he's either tied for or outright been the team's second-leading target getter in both games. Furthermore, he's very clearly the No. 1 option out of the backfield. Expectations need to be tempered for the time being, but the fourth-year pro still has a clear path to production. He'll look to get back on track in Week 3 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
