Jordan Watkins News

Jordan Watkins Makes His Final Case In Busy Preseason

Friday, August 28, 12:39 AM

San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Jordan Watkins saw a team-high eight targets in Thursday's 18-12 win over the Raiders. Watkins had four receptions for 64 receiving yards, gained 27 rushing yards on three carries, and handled two kickoffs and two punts for a total of 62 return yards in the preseason finale. A fourth-round selection in the 2025 draft, Watkins appeared in just four games last season but saw a healthy amount of work in this year's preseason, racking up 13 receptions for 164 yards on 22 targets. Despite the long look, he is unlikely to have an impact in fantasy with Mike Evans (groin), Deebo Samuel Sr., and De'Zhaun Stribling (shoulder) at the top of the depth chart, and Christian Kirk, Demarcus Robinson, and Jacob Cowing also jockeying for playing time. Watkins can safely be ignored in fantasy drafts.

Reggie Virgil News

Cardinals Select Texas Tech Receiver Reggie Virgil in the Fifth Round

Saturday, April 25, 10:22 AM

The Arizona Cardinals have selected Texas Tech wide receiver Reggie Virgil with the 143rd overall pick in the fifth round of the 2026 NFL Draft. A transfer from Miami-Ohio, Virgil excelled during his first and only season at Texas Tech, catching 57 passes for 705 yards and six touchdowns. He also coverted his two rushing attempts into two rushing touchdowns. With good hands and route-running skills, Virgil has a chance to produce in a depth role as early as his rookie season. He'll presumably spend this summer competing for the No. 4 receiver role behind Michael Wilson, Marvin Harrison Jr., and Kendrick Bourne.
