Brock Purdy Developing Chemistry With New No. 1 Receiver

It was obviously a disappointing showing for fantasy managers, but even with Pearsall likely done for the year in 2026, Purdy has obvious bounce-back potential in head coach Kyle Shanahan's offense while being able to throw it up to a future Hall of Famer in Evans. The Niners are reuniting with veteran Deebo Samuel Sr., too, and Purdy still has All-Pro RB Christian McCaffrey to dump the ball off to when all else fails. A lack of rushing prowess limits Purdy's overall fantasy upside, but he's not a bad low-end QB1/high-end QB2 target for a bounce-back if he stays healthy in his fifth year in the NFL.

With Christian McCaffrey coming off a 450-touch season, George Kittle already questionable for the start of the year as he recovers from a torn Achilles, and new number one receiver Mike Evans turning 33 before the start of the season, banking on health in San Francisco may not be the soundest strategy, but if the unit can avoid catastrophic derailment, Purdy should prove to be a steal in 2026 and beyond as RotoBaller's dynasty QB13.

Brock Purdy Still Not Valued as a Dynasty QB1
San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy has been an undervalued dynasty asset since coming into the league as the final pick of the 2022 NFL Draft. Since taking over as a full-time starter, Purdy finished as the fantasy QB6 in 2023 and the QB14 in 2024, despite missing two games. While a significant turf toe injury limited him to only nine games in 2025, he was a fantasy difference maker in almost every one of those appearances. The 49ers could also get more out of wide receiver Ricky Pearsall, who has been limited by injuries to just 20 games played over his first two NFL seasons. While the loss of Kittle hurts, San Francisco still has a solid supporting cast around Purdy that should allow the young QB to continue to be a productive option for fantasy managers.
