San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy will be a startable option when his team hosts the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday. In Week 3, Purdy was 25-of-37 for 310 yards passing, two touchdowns, and no interceptions against a New York Giants defense that blitzed him on a ridiculous 84.6% of his dropbacks, which is the highest single-game blitz rate in the Next Gen Stats era. Coincidentally, Arizona's defense is ranked second to the Giants in season-long blitz rate at 34.5%, although it hasn't worked out too well for them either, ranking 19th in total pass defense. Good matchup aside, it is worth noting that Purdy's receiving crew is a bit banged up heading into Sunday. Main target Deebo Samuel (rib/knee) is listed as questionable and third receiver Jauan Jennings (shin) is doubtful. The good news is that Brandon Aiyuk will play after missing last week. Purdy will be relatively stable as a borderline QB1 with a slight boost or fade depending on Samuel's updated status.
