Arizona Cardinals head coach Jonathan Gannon announced on Monday that quarterback Joshua Dobbs will make another start under center in Week 2 against the New York Giants. Dobbs wasn't good at all in the season opener on Sunday in a 20-16 loss to the Washington Commanders, going 21-for-30 for 132 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions. He carried the ball three times for a loss of three yards and also fumbled three times, losing two of them. It was just the 28-year-old's third NFL start, though, and it came against a pretty tough defense. Dobbs will have the opportunity to bounce back this weekend against a Giants D that just allowed 40 points to the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday night. Still, Dobbs should be viewed as only a desperation QB2 play in deep superflex leagues.

New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones completed 22 passes for 137 yards, zero touchdowns, and an interception in the team's 30-12 loss to the San Francisco 49ers. The Giants' game plan focused on screens and short passes due to injuries along the offensive line. Jones rarely took shots down the field in an effort to avoid the San Francisco pass rush. The 26-year-old's interception came on what ultimately proved to be his final pass. Tyrod Taylor replaced him on the next drive with the game out of hand. Jones and the Giants will next host the Seattle Seahawks on Monday Night Football.
