Buffalo Bills head coach Sean McDermott said that wide receiver Joshua Palmer (ankle, knee) has been ruled out for Sunday's Week 9 contest against the Kansas City Chiefs, according to Maddy Glab of BuffaloBills.com. Palmer returned to practice on Thursday, but he was moving around gingerly and will now end up missing a second straight game. Struggling second-year wideout Keon Coleman wasn't able to take advantage of Palmer sitting out in last week's blowout win over the Carolina Panthers, catching three of four targets for 30 yards. With the 26-year-old Palmer missing another game, Elijah Moore, Tyrell Shavers, and Curtis Samuel should battle for WR3 snaps again behind Coleman and Khalil Shakir, but it's really hard to trust anyone outside of Shakir in starting fantasy football lineups at the moment, especially in a tough matchup against KC's defense.

Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Josh Downs (hip) practiced fully on Thursday and Friday after missing his team's Wednesday practice and is listed without an injury designation heading into a Week 9 road matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Downs will look to build upon an encouraging Week 8 outing that saw him haul in all three of his targets for 39 yards and a touchdown in a win over the Tennessee Titans. He has a great matchup on tap as the Steelers are allowing the sixth-most fantasy points per game to wide receivers this season. Downs has been overtaken in the passing-game pecking order by Michael Pittman Jr., but he remains a solid WR3/flex option in fantasy in this prime matchup on Sunday.
