Mike Evans A Risky Start Amid Injury Concerns

San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Mike Evans (ribs) is listed as questionable for Week 4 and is considered a game-time decision, per Vic Tafur of The Athletic. Evans took a hard shot to the body on his first target of the game last Sunday and was eventually removed from the game later in the first half after clutching at his side in obvious pain following a broken pass play. Evans missed the 49ers' first two practices of the week but was a limited participant on Friday. If Evans is forced to sit, the offense will have greater focus on George Kittle and Christian McCaffrey, with wide receivers Deebo Samuel Sr., Jordan Watkins, and Jacob Cowing seeing potential boosts as well. Assuming he is active, Evans is projected as a back-end WR3 playing hurt and with a potential matchup against Pat Surtain. Fantasy managers may want to avoid the risk and find an alternative for Week 4.

Emeka Egbuka Falls into WR3 Range

Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Emeka Egbuka has not lived up to expectations during the first three weeks of the season. It's unlikely to get better with Baker Mayfield (thumb) going down for at least three weeks. Now, the Bucs turn to undrafted rookie Jalon Daniels to lead this offensive unit. Fantasy managers should expect most of the offensive-skilled players to take a hit with Daniels under center. Egbuka saw a season-high nine targets last week, but we'll see if the Bucs continue throwing his way as frequently this weekend. Given the downgrade at QB, fantasy managers should consider Egbuka a WR3 for the upcoming matchup against the Green Bay Packers.
