Dallas Cowboys head coach Brian Callahan said that running backs Jaydon Blue (heel) and Miles Sanders (knee) should see some "significant progress" this week and could play in the team's second preseason game this Saturday versus the Baltimore Ravens. Neither Blue nor Sanders played in the preseason opener on Saturday against the Los Angeles Rams. Blue suffered a bone bruise in his heel in practice last Thursday, while Sanders has been battling a knee injury. Javonte Williams remains the favorite to be the lead back for Dallas early in the 2025 season, but both Sanders and Blue should be involved to an extent as well. Blue, a fifth-rounder in April, has been the most explosive and impressive during training camp, but the 21-year-old will most likely enter the regular season as the team's RB3. Blue is worth an RB4/flex flier late in PPR drafts.

Green Bay Packers running backs MarShawn Lloyd (groin) and Emanuel Wilson (knee) were both back at Monday's training camp practice, according to Packers beat writer Mike Spofford. It's good news for Green Bay's backfield heading into Week 2 of the preseason. Lloyd, who played in just one game in his rookie season in 2024 due to injuries, missed the last couple weeks at camp with a non-contact groin injury, but now he's back on the field and should play in the second preseason game this Saturday against the Indianapolis Colts as he looks to secure the RB2 role behind starter Josh Jacobs. Lloyd will be competing with both Wilson and Chris Brooks for change-of-pace work in his second NFL season, and although he's proven to be very injury-prone early in his career, he's still the most intriguing RB in Green Bay behind Jacobs with lots of big-play ability.
