Nick Chubb to Work as RB in Wild-Card Game Against Pittsburgh

Monday, January 12, 6:44 PM

Houston Texans running back Nick Chubb will have an elevated role as the team's RB2 on Monday night against the hosting Pittsburgh Steelers in the Wild-Card playoff game, with Jawhar Jordan (ankle) ruled out. Chubb was a healthy scratch in the Week 18 regular-season finale against the Indianapolis Colts, with Jordan taking over RB2 duties behind rookie starter Woody Marks. The 30-year-old should be more involved against Pittsburgh, but he by no means should be considered a standalone starter in fantasy lineups on Monday night. Chubb saw one carry in two of his final three regular-season games. He averaged 4.1 yards per carry on his 122 rushing attempts for 506 yards in 15 regular-season contests. Dare Ogunbowale may see the field more than Chubb on Monday night. Chubb hasn't seen double-digit carries in a game since Nov. 2 against the Broncos.

Blake Corum to Maintain Backfield Split in Divisional Round?

Friday, January 16, 9:04 PM

Los Angeles Rams running back Blake Corum split time more evenly with backfield mate Kyren Williams down the stretch of the regular season, and that near-even timeshare continued in the Wild-Card win over the Carolina Panthers last Saturday. Corum had 11 carries for 45 yards and added two catches on two targets for 13 yards. Meanwhile, Williams had 15 total touches. The 25-year-old Michigan product has had double-digit carries in five of his last six games, and even if Williams is the lead back on Sunday in the Divisional Round against the hosting Chicago Bears, Corum should see enough of a role to make him a low-end starting RB option for fantasy managers in playoff leagues. Expected inclement weather in Chicago could also force both teams to run the ball more, which would lead to more work for Corum. During the regular season, the Bears' defense allowed the 10th-most rushing yards (1,772).
