Nyheim Hines Agrees With Chargers

Monday, July 21, 7:01 PM

Former Indianapolis Colts and Buffalo Bills running back Nyheim Hines, who hasn't played in the NFL for the last two seasons due to a knee injury, reached an undisclosed agreement with the Los Angeles Chargers on Monday, a source tells ESPN's Adam Schefter. The 28-year-old initially tore his left ACL in a jet-skiing accident after the 2022 season and missed all of 2023 and 2024 as a result. Before his injury, he was a useful pass-catching, change-of-pace option out of the backfield for the Colts and Bills. The Chargers are most likely adding Hines primarily as insurance for Najee Harris (eye), who is on the Non-Football Injury list to start training camp with a superficial eye injury that he suffered during a fireworks mishap. Hines is also known for his abilities as a returner on special teams, but for now, he'll strictly be RB depth for the Bolts with Harris not able to practice yet.

Chase Edmonds News

Chase Edmonds Placed On Season-Ending Injured Reserve

Monday, August 26, 9:06 PM

Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Chase Edmonds (undisclosed) is being placed on the season-ending Injured Reserve on Monday. Meanwhile, wide receiver Rakim Jarrett (undisclosed) will go on IR-designated to return and will be eligible to come back after missing the first four games of the season. Edmonds will miss all of 2024 after missing all of training camp and the preseason with an undisclosed injury. It means that the Bucs will now ask Bucky Irving, Sean Tucker and DJ Williams to step up as depth options in the backfield behind starter Rachaad White. The 28-year-old former fourth-round pick by the Arizona Cardinals in 2018 out of Fordham saw only 49 carries for 176 yards (3.6 yards per carry) in his first year with the Bucs in 2023, adding 14 receptions for 81 yards in 13 games. The rookie Irving is the favorite for the RB2 role now that Edmonds' season is over.
