Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes completed 18-of-30 passes for 203 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions with seven carries for 51 yards in Week 4's narrow 23-20 win over the New York Jets. Mahomes found Noah Gray for an early 34-yard score, but he began short-circuiting quite a bit thereafter. Mahomes badly underthrew one for a second-quarter giveaway, and his second turnover was just as curious after he lofted another pass into C.J. Mosley's waiting arms. Mahomes found an opening for a heartbreaking 25-yard rush on third-and-23 before tossing a third pick into triple coverage that was wiped away on a debatable holding penalty. Fantasy managers may not like the stat line, but Mahomes hung in there on the road just enough against a swarming Jets defense. Things should come much more easily for the two-time MVP in Week 5 against the tissue-soft Minnesota Vikings defense.

Less than 24 hours after releasing Nathan Peterman, the Chicago Bears have re-signed the veteran quarterback to the active roster. Peterman will presumably be the Bears' backup to Justin Fields in Week 3 against the Buccaneers. Undrafted rookie Tyson Bagent will serve as the emergency quarterback. The 29-year-old Peterman has played in 13 games in his five-year NFL career.
