Philadelphia Eagles running back Rashaad Penny took three carries for nine yards and added one reception for five yards during the team's 34-28 win over the Minnesota Vikings. After being a healthy scratch last week against New England, the 27-year-old was able to make his way onto the active roster after Kenneth Gainwell (ribs) was ruled out Wednesday. However, it led to only four total touches as D'Andre Swift dominated the snap share out of the backfield to the tune of 181 total yards. Boston Scott (concussion) was given carries before Penny, and he could have taken them all if he had not exited the game early. The former Seattle Seahawk is buried on the depth chart and can safely be dropped to the waiver wire unless injuries occur ahead of him. We will have to wait and see if he will be active for the Eagles' next game against Tampa Bay.

Houston Texans running back Devin Singletary signed a one-year deal with the team this offseason and will make his season debut against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 1. Singletary will likely backup young running back Dameon Pierce this year. But the veteran's exact role remains to be seen. He could be used more in the passing game, as the running back is coming off three consecutive seasons of 35-plus catches with the Buffalo Bills. With an unknown role in Week 1, Singletary should only be started in deeper formats.
