Ray-Ray McCloud To Be Involved In Falcons Offense?

Tuesday, June 25, 4:09 PM

Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Ray-Ray McCloud signed with the team this offseason, but he largely went unnoticed since the Falcons had a busy offseason of new acquisitions. However, ESPN Falcons reporter Marc Raimondi said McCloud could be more involved in the offense than expected. "Most figured McCloud, a veteran going into his seventh year, would make his mark primarily as a return man," Raimondi said. "But he also got reps with Atlanta's first team this spring and performed well, catching passes from Cousins for big plays. New offensive coordinator Zac Robinson figures to use many wide receivers. McCloud will be in that mix." The 27-year-old has just 768 receiving yards and one touchdown through his first 77 games, so it's tough to get too excited about him. However, this report should at least put him on the fantasy radar in deep leagues.

Vikings Agree With Trent Sherfield On One-Year Deal

Thursday, March 14, 7:24 PM

The Minnesota Vikings agreed to a one-year deal worth $1.79 million with former Buffalo Bills wide receiver Trent Sherfield on Thursday. Sherfield will receive a $400,000 signing bonus. The 28-year-old former undrafted free agent out of Vanderbilt spent the first three years of his career playing for the Arizona Cardinals before one-year stints with the San Francisco 49ers, Miami Dolphins and Bills in 2023. He caught 11 of his 22 targets for 86 yards and one touchdown in 17 regular season games (one start) in Buffalo last year. Sherfield has a grand total of 78 receptions for 930 yards and five touchdowns on 141 targets in his six years in the NFL and won't be on the fantasy radar in 2024 as he competes with Brandon Powell for a reserve role in Minnesota behind Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison.
