Saquon Barkley Dealing With Knee Injury, Expected to Play on Thursday

Monday, October 6, 6:25 PM

The Philadelphia Eagles listed running back Saquon Barkley (knee) as a non-participant on their estimated injury report on Monday due to a knee injury, according to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network. NFL insider Ian Rapoport is reporting that Barkley had general soreness in his knee coming out of Sunday's loss to the Denver Broncos, but he fully expects to play on Thursday night against his former team, the New York Giants. It explains why Barkley's volume was so low in Week 5 -- he had a season-low six carries for 30 yards and caught all three of his targets for 58 yards and a touchdown. Last year's rushing leader remains a must-start in fantasy when he's active, but there's certainly the potential for him to see a smaller workload again on a short week against the Giants. The good news is that Barkley averaged 5.0 yards per carry on Sunday after being under 3.0 yards a carry in the previous two games.

Kyren Williams News

Kyren Williams Excels as Pass Catcher, Snags Two Touchdowns on TNF

Friday, October 3, 12:19 AM

Los Angeles Rams running back Kyren Williams rushed for 65 yards on 14 carries during Thursday's overtime loss to the San Francisco 49ers in Week 5. He also converted 10 targets into eight catches, 66 yards, and two receiving touchdowns. It was a remarkable showing from the young running back as he delivered massive production as a receiver. After primarily being a ball carrier through his first three seasons, Williams has suddenly taken on a large role in the passing game with 13 catches and three receiving touchdowns over his last three contests. His dual-threat impact has allowed him to hold onto the lead back role over Blake Corum, who had 11 touches last Sunday but just one on Thursday night. While Williams' eight catches and two receiving touchdowns may not be sustainable going forward, managers should expect that he'll continue to make an impact on the ground and through the air. He's back in the low-end RB1 territory for Week 6 against an underwhelming Ravens defense.
