Carolina Re-Signs Tommy Tremble To Two-Year Deal

Saturday, March 8, 7:55 PM

The Carolina Panthers are re-signing tight end Tommy Tremble to a two-year deal. Joe Person of The Athletic reported the news. Tremble spent the last four seasons with Carolina after being selected in the third round of the 2021 NFL Draft, though he never eclipsed 23 receptions or 234 yards -- figures he reached this past season in only 12 games. The 24-year-old acted as the Panthers' primary TE for most of the 2024 season but split time pretty evenly with then-rookie Ja'Tavion Sanders near the season's end. Carolina's offense ended last season on the up-swing. Still, uncertainty surrounding the Notre Dame product's role in the offense should cause fantasy managers pause before dumping a pick into him this offseason. Despite the potential upside of the Panthers' pass attack manned by an improving Bryce Young, Tremble is worth nothing more than a late-round best ball flyer at this point.

Colston Loveland News

Colston Loveland Unavailable For Rookie Minicamp While Rehabbing Shoulder

Friday, May 9, 10:08 PM

Chicago Bears rookie first-round tight end Colston Loveland (shoulder) has been unavailable during practice during rookie minicamp while rehabbing from surgery that he had on his shoulder in January. While he's unavailable for on-field work, Loveland is focusing on the mental side of things, learning the offensive scheme and developing chemistry with quarterback Caleb Williams. The 21-year-old 10th overall pick in this year's NFL draft is expected to increase his activity by the time mandatory minicamp rolls around early next month, and he should be fully ready to go by training camp this summer as he enters his first year in the NFL. The Bears still have Cole Kmet at the position, but the 6-foot-6, 260-pound Loveland could be Chicago's top pass-catching TE by season's end. As he shares playing time with Kmet in Year 1, fantasy managers should temper expectations in 2025.
