Tory Horton Remains on the Cusp of Breaking Out

Saturday, October 11, 9:51 AM

Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Tory Horton should remain on your bench in Week 6 against the Jacksonville Jaguars. However, Horton continues to produce at a high level, and he will be difficult for the Seahawks to keep off the field. Horton has a nose for the end zone. He has scored four touchdowns in his first five games in the league. Unfortunately, his volume has been low. Horton has yet to exceed 39 receiving yards or four targets in a game. Despite the low volume, Horton's efficiency has been absurd. Three of his eight receptions this season have gone for touchdowns, and he has returned a punt for a touchdown. While the Jaguars boast a solid defense, they are relatively banged up in the secondary. Their recent addition of Greg Newsome II will help, but Jacksonville needs to worry about wide receivers Jaxon Smith-Njigba and Cooper Kupp first. Horton has a great chance to get lost in the shuffle and find the end zone once again in a game that projects to be relatively competitive. He is still not worthy of a start, but Horton could be a great second-half player in 2025.

Jaylin Lane In Line For More Opportunities in Week 6 Against Bears

Saturday, October 11, 10:31 PM

Washington Commanders wide receiver Jaylin Lane has made a big impact as a punt returner this season and has made plays when his number has been called on offense. Lane has seen more time on offense with top wide receivers Terry McLaurin (quadriceps) and Noah Brown (quad, knee), both dealing with mult-game absences. Lane caught only one ball in Washington's Week 5 win over the Chargers, but it came on a crucial 3rd and 16 deep in their own territory in the second quarter that helped sustain the drive and lead to their first touchdown of the game. And if Deebo Samuel Sr. (heel) is unable to go, Lane would likely be in line to take some of those designed and underneath targets to get the ball in his hands. Samuel looks like a true game-time decision, which is a frustrating situation on Monday night. The rookie wide receiver has upside against a Bears defense that has allowed the sixth most PPR points per game to opposing wide receivers through four games this season.
