Trevor Etienne to Open Season on Injured Reserve

The Carolina Panthers placed running back Trevor Etienne (ankle) on injured reserve ahead of Sunday's 53-man roster deadline. Etienne will occupy one of the two IR spots for players who are designated to return later in the season. The team can activate him in Week 5 or later, and when they do so, he'll count toward the 53-man roster. Etienne was originally slated to operate as the Panthers' No. 3 running back behind Chuba Hubbard and Jonathon Brooks, but those responsibilities will belong to AJ Dillon for now. Etienne had just 107 scrimmage yards, zero touchdowns, and one fumble lost through 17 games as a rookie last year. He can be left on fantasy waivers in most leagues as long as Hubbard and Brooks are both healthy.

Running Back Corey Kiner Traded to Patriots

The Arizona Cardinals traded running back Corey Kiner to the New England Patriots on Saturday in exchange for a seventh-round pick in the 2028 NFL Draft, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported. Kiner, 24, logged significant playing time for the Cardinals in preseason play, with James Conner (ankle) working his way back from a season-ending injury and Jeremiyah Love (ankle) nursing a preseason sprain. He now joins a Patriots running back room that is thin behind Rhamondre Stevenson, with TreVeyon Henderson (ankle) injured in a preseason practice and Terrell Jennings (undisclosed) placed on injured reserve. However, Kiner's role at RB3 will likely be minimal if Henderson is healthy enough to play in Week 1. Kiner doesn't hold significant fantasy value for redraft leagues at this time, but fantasy managers should keep an eye on the health of the Patriots' backfield leading up to their drafts.
