Cardinals Making Trey McBride The Highest-Paid Tight End In NFL History

Thursday, April 3, 4:43 PM

The Arizona Cardinals are making Pro Bowl tight end Trey McBride the highest-paid tight end in NFL history with a four-year, $76 million contract extension on Thursday, according to his agents. The deal includes $43 million guaranteed and a $19 million average per year, which is the highest ever for any NFL tight end. The 25-year-old former second-rounder (55th overall) in 2022 out of Colorado State was a first-time Pro Bowler in 2024 while setting career-highs in receptions (111), targets (147), receiving yards (1,146) in 16 games. Despite only finding the end zone two times, McBride still finished as the TE2 in standard scoring in his third year in the league, with his 111 catches falling just one short of Brock Bowers' 112 for the league lead. He should score more in 2025 in his fourth year in the NFL, making him an elite TE1 target for fantasy managers.

Jahmyr Gibbs News

Jahmyr Gibbs Getting a Lot of Work as a Receiver in Camp

Monday, July 28, 9:29 AM

Detroit Lions superstar running back Jahmyr Gibbs has been getting a lot of attention in the passing game during training camp to start the 2025 season, the Athletic reports. Gibbs, already established as a consensus top-10 pick in the 2025 fantasy football draft by most experts, is raising his ceiling already in PPR leagues with the potential to be more involved in the pass game for the Lions in 2025 compared to 2024. During the 2024 season, Gibbs broke out in a big way, accumulating 1,412 rushing yards on 250 rush attempts and scoring 16 rushing touchdowns. He also contributed through the air, with 517 receiving yards on 52 receptions, and four receiving touchdowns. With running back mate David Montgomery being healthy entering the season, Gibbs is likely to go back to a timeshare with Montgomery, limiting his upside, but if the Lions insist on getting Gibbs more involved in the pass game as well as running the ball, he could easily finish as the number one running back in fantasy football in 2025.
