Arizona Cardinals tight end Trey McBride experienced his least productive game of the new season in Week 4, pulling in just 31 receiving yards and finishing outside the top-10 at his position for the first time. He still reached double digits in the targets column and had seven receptions. Through four weeks, he ranks third in the NFL in receptions and targets. In Week 5, he is once again a favorite to finish as the week's top tight end in a smash spot against the Detroit Lions. The Lions' defense has given up 31.8 points and 327 passing yards per game this year and has been especially leaky against tight ends. Detroit has allowed the most receptions (37), the most touchdowns (six), and the second-most receiving yards (407) to the position in 2026. McBride is a week-to-week must-start, with the potential in Week 5 to be the overall TE1.

New York Jets first-round tight end Kenyon Sadiq (concussion) is trending towards playing in the Week 6 game on Sunday on the road against the division-rival New England Patriots, according to NFL.com. Sadiq suffered a head injury in Sunday's win over the Cleveland Browns, was placed in the concussion protocol, and never returned. However, after limited practices on Wednesday and Thursday, the Oregon product has upgraded to a full practice on Friday and looks to be on the right track to be cleared to play this weekend. It is great news for a Jets offense that will be without receiver Adonai Mitchell (finger) for yet another game. New York will also be getting first-round rookie receiver Omar Cooper Jr. (ankle) back from Injured Reserve, so quarterback Geno Smith will have another weapon to help replace the injured Mitchell. The 21-year-old Sadiq has intriguing pass-catching upside as an ultra-athletic TE, but he will likely continue to be volatile for fantasy purposes in his first year in the NFL. Sadiq broke out for 105 yards and a touchdown in the Week 3 loss to the Detroit Lions, but he has just two catches for three yards in two games since.
