The Los Angeles Rams selection of Alabama quarterback Ty Simpson with the 13th pick of the 2026 NFL Draft went down as one of the biggest surprises of Day 1, but now that the dust has settled, Simpson's long-term dynasty appeal has grown more obvious. Since the draft, the Rams have agreed with Matthew Stafford on an extension that appears to keep the reigning MVP in Los Angeles through the 2027 season. While he may not have the immediate impact of some of the other rookies in his class, if the Rams believe they have their quarterback of the future, the franchise has a proven record of investing around their guy.
