Tyler Allgeier News

Tyler Allgeier's Prospects Weakened By Timeshare And Tough Matchup

Saturday, September 19, 1:05 AM

Arizona Cardinals running back Tyler Allgeier handled 17 carries and 61 rushing yards in Week 1 against the Los Angeles Chargers. With rookie Jeremiyah Love still working back from his preseason ankle injury, Allgeier started the game and led the backfield in attempts, yards, and snaps. The division of labor measured by snap share was roughly a 60-40 split in Allgeier's favor. Love was not on the Cardinals' injury report this week, so it is safe to assume he sees at least as much work in Week 2 as he did in the season opener. Love's improved health and potentially increased involvement in the offense limit Allgeier's fantasy stock. With a Seahawks defense on deck that allowed New England's Rhamondre Stevenson just 2.8 yards per carry last week, it is hard to see Allgeier as outperforming his RB3/4 projection. He does not belong in fantasy football lineups in Week 2.

Trey Benson News

Trey Benson Placed on Cardinals' Injured Reserve

Tuesday, August 25, 5:09 PM

After the Arizona Cardinals waived running back Trey Benson with an injury designation, Benson was placed on injured reserve, ending his 2026 season. All 31 other teams passed on Benson on the waiver wire, so the running back will spend the 2026 season on injured reserve. The former third-round pick has totaled 111 attempts for 574 yards and one touchdown in 17 career games with Arizona. Benson underwent meniscus surgery during the 2025 season but was unable to return to play despite being activated off injured reserve. The third-year running back could've affected another running back room across the league, but with him out for the season, fantasy managers can safely drop Benson if they had him on their rosters.
