Germie Bernard a Top Target for Dynasty Rebuilders

Pittsburgh Steelers rookie wide receiver Germie Bernard showed off an intriguing fantasy skill set in his final collegiate season in 2025. Across 14 games for the University of Alabama, Bernard recorded 64 catches for 862 yards and seven touchdowns while rushing for 101 yards and two scores on 18 carries. Entering 2026, Bernard may be competing with fellow rookie wideout Kaden Wetjen to be Pittsburgh's primary slot receiver. The Steelers have two veteran wideouts in DK Metcalf and Michael Pittman Jr. who will likely command the majority of the team's targets, which may limit Bernard's short-term fantasy upside. Still, Bernard's ability to affect the game as both a rusher and a receiver gives him plenty of long-term upside. For rebuilding dynasty managers, Bernard profiles as a logical target in rookie drafts.

Germie Bernard Expected to Require Some Patience in Dynasty Leagues

Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Germie Bernard has an encouraging draft stock as a second-round pick and has drawn praise from the coaching staff, but his position on the depth chart could prevent him from having immediate fantasy relevance. Managers may need to exercise a little patience in dynasty leagues, as Bernard projects to open 2026 as the Steelers' No. 3 receiver behind DK Metcalf and Michael Pittman Jr. That's not to say that he should be avoided in dynasty leagues, though. Metcalf has missed at least two games in each of the last two seasons, so injuries could strike at any time and result in Bernard taking on a larger role. Plus, as a second-rounder from Alabama, we know he's a talented player who could earn more playing time simply by producing this summer and early in his rookie season. Managers may have to be a little patient, but the upside is very encouraging. Bernard is a solid target at the end of the first round or start of the second round in 2026 rookie drafts. He ranks as the WR60 in RotoBaller's latest dynasty fantasy football rankings.

Steelers Trade Up, Select Germie Bernard With 47th Overall Pick

The Pittsburgh Steelers have traded up to pick 47 to select University of Alabama wide receiver Germie Bernard. Per NFL Network's Mike Garafolo, the Steelers are trading picks 53, 135, and 237 to the Indianapolis Colts in exchange for picks 47 and 249. Across 14 games with the Crimson Tide in 2025, Bernard hauled in 64 receptions for 862 yards and seven touchdowns. He also rushed for 101 yards and two touchdowns on 18 carries, so he could bring some dual-threat appeal for fantasy managers in 2026 and beyond. The Steelers have wide receivers DK Metcalf and Michael Pittman Jr. firmly atop their depth chart at the position. However, Bernard could be in a position to earn the team's WR3 role right away. If veteran quarterback Aaron Rodgers does eventually return to Pittsburgh, Bernard's run-after-catch ability could lead to him seeing plenty of short-area targets.
