Wan'Dale Robinson News

Wan'Dale Robinson Is a Priority PPR Add for Week 2

Monday, September 14, 8:10 AM

Tennessee Titans wide receiver Wan'Dale Robinson gave fantasy managers a familiar stat line in Sunday's 23-10 loss to the New York Jets, catching five of six targets for 38 yards. It wasn't a big day, but the six targets tied rookie Carnell Tate for the team lead while Cam Ward managed only 140 passing yards. Robinson's value has never depended on piling up deep shots. He caught 92 passes for 1,014 yards and four touchdowns with the Giants last season, then signed with Tennessee and reunited with offensive coordinator Brian Daboll. The Titans also list him as a starter, so there is no role question to solve here. What needs to improve is the offense around him. Tennessee produced only 195 total yards in the opener, and Robinson averaged 7.6 yards per catch. That can make him frustrating outside of full-PPR formats. Still, five catches in a poor offensive showing are enough to keep the floor interesting. If Robinson was left on the waiver wire, he should be a priority add in PPR leagues ahead of Week 2 against Philadelphia, with more value as a steady depth option than a high-ceiling play.

Alec Pierce News

Alec Pierce A Deep League Start, Still Working Back From Injury

Saturday, September 19, 4:25 AM

Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Alec Pierce (heel) recovered enough from an offseason surgery on his lower leg to play in his team's Week 1 contest. He hauled in four of his six targets for 61 yards in that game, totaling 10.1 PPR fantasy points. He's reprising his role as one of the best deep threats in the NFL, as he's averaged over 20 yards per reception each season over the last two seasons. When healthy, he's the clear WR1 for his team, and he's likely to continue to improve as the season goes on. There was a lot of skepticism about his potential return to health this year, as he was held out of practice and visibly limping as recently as a few weeks before the season started. Week 2 presents a difficult matchup with the Kansas City Chiefs defense. Pierce seems to be doing well, though Colts quarterback Daniel Jones is also working back from an injury, and will need to be on top of his game for Pierce to have a great day. The fifth-year wideout checks in as a risky WR3/flex in fantasy football for this contest.
