Houston Texans running back Woody Marks is expected to handle a substantial workload Sunday against the New York Giants, with offensive coordinator Nick Caley voicing confidence in his ability to lead the backfield. According to Aaron Wilson, Caley said Marks will get "a good amount of carries" while also backing Dare Ogunbowale as the team's No. 2 option. David Montgomery (groin) is expected to miss his second consecutive game, and Jawhar Jordan was placed on the practice squad injured list Wednesday, which further limits Houston's available options. Marks has received 15 carries in each of his past two appearances, combining for 118 rushing yards and six receptions for 48 yards. He finished Sunday's 34-31 victory over Jacksonville with 81 scrimmage yards on 17 touches. Caley's comments reinforce Marks' standing as Houston's primary ball carrier and give him a credible RB2/flex outlook for Week 7.

Chicago Bears running back Kyle Monangai (toe, thumb) has been ruled out for Thursday's Week 7 matchup against the New England Patriots, according to Kevin Fishbain of The Athletic. Monangai will miss his third consecutive game after suffering the injuries during Chicago's Week 4 victory over the New York Jets, when he rushed for 146 yards and two touchdowns on 30 carries. The second-year back hasn't played since that performance, which has left D'Andre Swift and Roschon Johnson to handle the backfield duties. Swift recorded 16 carries for 44 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's 31-23 victory over Atlanta, adding four receptions for 26 yards. Johnson was heavily involved too, rushing 13 times for 51 yards and a touchdown while catching two passes for 34 yards, although he lost a fumble. With Monangai unavailable, both backs should keep seeing substantial opportunities, with Swift holding the lead role.
